Over 20 coaches from across the county, including our own Conor Doolan attended this impressive course aimed at improving junior soccer standards in Ireland. During the weekend coaches were given tasks to plan, warm ups and organise drills for the rest of the participants to take part in. These individual and group activities were analysed by the F.A.I Tutors as well as the coaches involved. Topics discussed during the course ranged from training session planning to how players with disabilities can be included within the F.A.I. The following were the F.A.I. personal for this course Trevor Lovell, U.E.F.A. B licence, Ex Limerick 37 coach and 4-time winner of the F.A.I. Junior Cup with Fairview Rangers. The development officer for Kerry, Darren Aherne has to be commended for the success of this course and he is hoping to organise a review of this course and he is hoping to organise a review of this course with all those who participated in the near future. Darren is also working to arrange a Youth Cert course in the Spring which is the next step on the way to U.E.F.A. B, A and Pro licence levels. A Special thanks must go to John O’Regan, Kerry District League Secretary for co-ordinating and the use of the excellently developed facilities in Tralee.
