U17 Girls
Ballyhar 1 Mastergeeha 0
In the second girls game of the weekend the U17s travelled to Ballyhar. This was a close and tense encounter with Mastergeeha dominating the opening half with Tracey Coffey and Mirian Healy going close. Ciara Nagle also had a well-struck free kick stopped by the home keeper. In the final minutes of the half Ballyhar were awarded a penalty but Amanda Courtney saved well. Early in the second half Mastergeeha options up front were limited when Ashling Coffey went off injured. Following this the girls were on the back foot but the defence stood firm. However with 4 minutes remaining Ballyhar took the lead with a lucky goal. In the closing minutes the girls pushed forward but got no reward. All involved gave full effort with stand in goalkeeper Amanda Courtney outstanding.
