Seniors snatch a late winner

SENIORS: Celcius Cup – Replay.

This second round cup replay was held in Kilbrean Park on Thursday night in ideal conditions. In an even opening half both sides created some chances however it was Mastergeeha who led at half time. The goal was scored in the 35th minute following a corner, which the visitors failed to clear with an Alan Moynihan shot finding the net. In the second half Inter Kenmare pushed forward for the equaliser and scored following a defensive mix up. Mastergeeha were now under pressure and responded well with Mike Murphy going close in the 60th minute. Following this move the lads upped the pace and attacked with more focus in search of the lead goal. David Fleming and Anthony O’Sullivan had good shots saved in the final quarter. However the home side were rewarded in the 85th minute following a pass from Kevin Bruton, Anthony O’Sullivan crossed the ball to David Fleming whose shot was saved but the rebound fell to Mike Murphy to finish to the net. Mastergeeha now face Asdee or Classic FC in the next round.
