U11 1st round cup clash

U11 LEAGUE: Mastergeeha, 0 Camp1 aet. On Saturday last the Mastergeeha U11 played Camp Juniors in this 1st round cup clash. The home side started well dominating the midfield exchanges and creating the better scoring chances with Padraig Desmond going close; however the score remained nil all. At the start of the second half Camp upped the pace and went close after 35 minutes. Following this Mastergeeha took control of the game through the midfield play of Philip Casey and Mathew Keane. In the 45th minute Padraig Desmond was put through on goal but was unlucky to see his good shot well saved by the Camp goalkeeper. For the remaining 15 minutes of the normal time Mastergeeha continued to lay siege on the Camp goal but could not find the break through. In extra time the home side continued to dominate and create the better chances only to be denied by the excellence of the Camp goalkeeper. However in the last minute of the second half of extra time Camp had a rare attack and scored through a powerful shot. This cruel twist left the Mastergeeha players with no reward for all their efforts and good play. All involved for Mastergeeha played with spirit, heart and style ably led by the excellence of Philip Casey.
