U15 League- A Listowel victory

U15 LEAGUE: Listowel Celtic 3 Mastergeeha 0.

This game played in Listowel last Saturday was tough fixture against the league leader. Listowel with the wind to their backs started the better with good possession in midfield and created a number of half chances early on. In the 15th minute they got the lead goal with a well taken shot from the edge of the box. They continued to dominate the play but some good defending and good fine goal keeping by Shane Murphy prevented them going further ahead. However the home side scored a second in the 30th minute following a corner. Mastergeeha then created a good scoring chance when Edna O’Sullivan went close. Just before the half time whistle Listowel scored again with an unstoppable shot to the top corner. In an even second half both sides created scoring chances. The Mastergeeha boys battled well in the slippery underfoot conditions with Ian Devane hitting the upright following a free kick early in the half. Mastergeeha also created other half chances through Ryan Carroll and James Devane but could not find the net.
