On Thursday night last Mastergeeha U12s had the experience of playing a game under lights at Celtic Park. On the night the boys created a number of excellent chances but lost to a more clinical Killarney side. Mastergeeha’s first chance came early on when a through ball from Damien Breen to Sean O’Sullivan who’s shot was well saved. Celtic then took the lead following a penalty in the 20th minute. Just before half time Matthew Keane rounded the defender but was unlucky to see his shot go just wide. Early in the second half Celtic went two up. Following this Mastergeeha pushed forward and created three or four good chances but could not find the net. However the visitors did get the break through following a powerful shot from Matthew Keane which was saved but Damien Breen was alert to latch onto the ball and finish well to the net. Mastergeeha were now playing the better soccer and where rewarded in the 50th minute when Damien Breen scored again. However Killarney Celtic in the final stages scored two goals as the visitors tired. On this occasion the Mastergeeha boys gave full effort and had they taken some of the early chances would have got the result their play deserved.
