U13 go top of the table

In a cold but dry day in Kilbrean Mastergeeha U13 went top of the table thanks to a large victory. Mastergeeha had a strong start with a cross from Jack Cahill cross and a Padriag Collins finish.

Seniors victory over Spa Road
Mastergeeha 2 Spa Road 1
In dry and breezy conditions in Kibrean Park a good victory against a strong Spa Road side and just after 3 minutes the home side made their task even more difficult by conceding an early goal. However with some good play shortly after Mastergeeha got the equalising goal. In an even contest the sides created chances but remained tied until the 80th minute when Daniel Kelly scored again with an excellent shot. This victory was based on a good team performance espically in defence
Fundraising
The club would like to thank all who supported the bag packing fundraiser held in Dunnes Stores over last weekend. The funds collected will go towards the running of the club and the ongoing development of the club at all levels.

U14s get past Kingdom Boys B in National Cup.
U14 Boys Mastergeeha 4 Kingdom Boys B 2
Mastergeeha qualified for the last 64 of this competition beating Kingdom boys in Tralee. In poor underfoot conditions and strong winds Kingdom Boys took an early lead but through Padraig Nagle to go in level at half time. In the second half Enda O’Sullivan gave Mastergeeha the lead with a well taken goal. However, Kingdom boys responded again in this tight match. Finally Mastergeeha gained the upper hand and scored two goals with no reply in the final quarter of the match. Scorers Padraig Nagle and Padraig Courtney.
U12s knocked out by Charleville in National Cup.
U12 Boys Mastergeeha 0 Charleville 4
In terrible weather with cold wind and rain throughout the match the boys were beaten by a physically stronger home side. Charleville took an early lead in the first half with the aid of the wind. Mastergeeha tried hard for an equaliser with a good shot from Damien Breen well saved. Charleville scored two goals late towards the end of the first half to leave the boys with an uphill struggle. Mastergeeha played better in the second half with some half chances. However their efforts were unrewarded eventually losing by 4.
U14s Girls lose in brave battle in Kilbrean
Under 14 Girls Mastergeeha 0 Listowel 4
Again on a wet and windy day the girls played at home to a good Listowel side. In a very even first half Mastergeeha had a number of good scoring chances through Miriam Healy and Emer Casey but could not get the break through. However, against the wind in the second half Listowel through some good play scored the lead goal. In worsening conditions the girls conceded 3 further goals before the final whistle.
Seniors involved in a scoreless draw

On a blustery day in Kilbrean Park the Seniors earned a draw. Mastergeeha had a variety of good scoring throughout the match, especially in the first half with the wind. In the second half Mastergeeha continued to dominate but failed to get the breakthrough . In the end a draw was a fair result for both sides.
