Inter Kenmare 4 Mastergeeha 1
On Saturday in Kenmare our under 12s faced Inter Kenmare in the quarter final of the cup. The game began at a high pace with the Mastergeeha defence holding out for 20 minutes. Mastergeeha went one goal down before half time. In the second half Mastergeeha chased the game and Inter went two goals ahead. Mastergeeha raised their game and a Matthew Keane shot from outside the box ended up in the net. Minutes later Matthew Keane took another long range shot and hit the crossbar. Then Padriag Desmond got through one on one for his shot to be saved. Inter Kenmare got two goals late on to complete the scoring. Team: Denis Ring, Shane Moynihan, Daniel Moynihan, Philip Casey, Kevin Leader, Oscar O'Connor, Matthew Keane, Jamie O'Donoghue, Padraig Desmond, Jonathan Coffey and Tadhg O'Mahony Subs used Brian Moynihan and Jack O'Donoghue
U17 Girls Cup
Ballyhar 2 Mastergeeha 1
This game played in Ballyhar on Sunday afternoon saw the girls exit the cup at the semi-final stage. In the opening half Mastergeeha was the better of the two sides and had a deserved lead at half time. Tracy Coffey scored in the 20th minute following a pass from Miriam Healy. In the second half Ballyhar attached more but the Mastergeeha defence stood firm with Ann O Keeffe making two excellent saves in the 50th minute. However in the 53rd minute Ballyhar scored the equaliser with a top corner shot. Following a defensive mix up in the 60th minute Ballyhar took the lead. In the closing stages of the Mastergeeha girls pushed forward a created some half chances but could not get the equaliser. All involved could not be faulted for their effort.
Kerry Community Games
Mastergeeha hosted the Kerry U12 soccer community games on Sunday in Kilbrean Park. Thirteen teams took part in the competition in ideal conditions. The club would like to acknowledge and thank everybody who helped on the day.
Castle Bar Cup
Killarney Celtic 3 Mastergeeha 0
In idea conditions Masetrgeeha played Killarney Celtic away on Sunday. In a close opening half both sides created some half chances but the score remained nil all at half time. In the 55th minute Celtic took the lead scored from a harshly awarded free kick. Mastergeeha pushed forward and tried hard to get back into the game but the Celtic rearguard stood firm. In the closing stages Celtic added further goals to put the result beyond doubt.
Ratoo Rovers 1 Mastegeeha 1
Mastergeeha B got a deserved draw away in North Kerry side on Sunday. Mike O Sullivan scored in the 60th minute following good midfield play.
Race Night
Our annual fundraising Race Night will be held in The Village Inn on Friday 1st May. Horses can be purchased from committee members.
