In the 20th minute Mastergeeha goal keeper Ann O’Keeffe made an excellent save to keep the score level. After this the girls upped the pace with good link up play by Marie Sheehan and Miriam Healy. In the 25th minute a free kick taken by Ciara Nagle from just outside the box was well controlled by Tracy Coffey and finished to the net. In the closing minutes of the half, the home side threatened again, but the score remained 1-0. In the second half Mastergeeha continued to play and Miriam Healy dominating their positions. In this even half both sides created good scoring chances with Miriam Healy going close for the visitors. In the closing stages Portmarnock were unlucky not to score when they again hit the post.
