In one of the few fixtures not to fall foul of the weather the boys got a victory away in Castlemaine. On a heavy pitch the home side started the better both the Mastergeeha defence stood firm with Chris Keane, Eamon Herlihy, Adam Walsh and Shane Moynihan playing well. Mastergeehas first chance came in the 15th minute when a Gary Healy free kick went just by the post. Moments later some good play in midfield resulted in a good chance for Darren O Connor who was unlucky not to score. In the second half the boys started well with Oscar O Connor and Aaron Healy doing well on the wings. In the 40th minute a Kieran Courtney shot was kept out by a great save by the home side’s goalkeeper. However mid way through the second half Mastergeeha took the lead following some good passing between Neil O Mahony and Kieran Courtney who passed to Gary Healy to score. After this Mastergeeha created some chances but the defence stood firm to record a good victory. All played well in this exciting game. U10 – Super Sevens
On Sunday last Mastergeeha attended a super sevens blitz in Killorglin. On the day the boys had three games recording two wins and a draw. All involved tried their hardest and showed some good skill to match the results. All enjoyed the day and look forward to their next outing.
