U12 Killarney Celtic 1 Mastergeeha 3
The u12s got the better of their local rival Killarney Celtic on Saturday morning. Mastergeeha were the better side throughout and deserved the victory. Oscar O Connor scored two and Aidan scored for the Mastergeeha side. All played their part in this entertaining game.
U14 Mastergeeha 4 Killarney Celtic 4
This early morning game at Kilbrean Park was a closely fought encounter. In the opening minutes the visitors opening the scoring however Mastergeeha replayed shortly after when Damien Breen scored following a well worked move. Killarney Celtic again took the lead in the 25th minute. Mastergeeha created some good chances with Derek Breen scoring for a free kick to leave the score 2-2 at the break. Mastergeeha started the second half the brighter with Derek Breen hitting the post and Damien going close. However Celtic scored again on the break in the 58th minute. Mastergeeha pressed forward after this and a superb strike from Kelvin Teahen levelled matters again. The boys now playing the better soccer took the lead when Padraig O Sullivan scored follow some good play. However in the final minute equalised again. The Mastergeeha boys could not be faulted for their effort and probably deserved more for their hard work on the day.
U16 Mastergeeha 6 Castlemaine 1
The u16 earned their first league victory of the season at home in wet conditions on Saturday. Conor Buckley (2), Padraig Collins, Mark Reen, Gearoid Coughlan, Conor O Riordan all scored on the day. All played their parting this good victory.
Seniors
Mastergeeha 1 Mainebank 4
The seniors suffered the first loss of the season at home on Sunday. The stronger Mainebank side scored two goals mid-way through the first half and went three up early in the second. Mastergeeha did reply when a Mikey O Shea free kick was head to the net by Ricky Fleming. However Mainebank scored again in the final quarter to secure the three points.
Mastergeeha B 1 Ardfert 1
The close encounter could have been won by either side but for some good save by each of the goalkeepers. In the opening quarter both sides created some half chances but defences stood firm. In the 25th minute Ardfert were awarded a penalty but luckily for the home side failed to scored from the kick. The visitors did however take the lead in the just before the break. In the second half Mastergeeha pushed forward more and scored the equaliser in the 70th minute with a well taken shot from Denis Noughton. After this both sides created chances but the score remained the same.
